The Ezgo Marathon Model Golf Cart (1975 -1993) This engine also had an internal starter/generator. In 1976 they came out with a six head bolt model EC25-DS 244cc two stroke Robin engine also made by Fugi. They used this four bolt head Robin engine made by Fuji Heavy Industries until 1975. Using a 175cc model 17-CES 1PG two cycle Robin version. This was a milestone for them as it stood up until then all were strictly electric vehicles. All Ezgo golf carts where battery powered until 1971 when they introduced the first gas engine sourced from Fuji. The Ezgo/Textron company now resides in the town of its birth of Augusta, Georgia. Then Billy and a handful of employees decided to leave Ezgo to purchase Club Car at the time was located in Texas. The two brothers continued to work with Ezgo and Textron until 1978.
